his morning we met with the team from the United Way. We have worked with the United Way for many years on a number of different events with the main fundraising event being our Truck Pull. Our meeting was to discuss the efforts of our industry and the work that we do.
The goals of the United Way over the next 3 years are focused on moving the needle on the issues Winnipeggers told us are critical in our community. By 2019 they are working towards:
- Providing 1800 more mentors to help kids build strong relationships, make better choices and do better in school.
- Connecting 4000 more youth with mental health supports to help them manage better at home, school, work, and in the community.
- Moving more families into greater stability by providing 1700 more people job skills and 1100 more families with money management training.
- Helping 2700 more families get more help close to home at neighbourhood family centres.

We are proud of our members and the support that they show not only for events like the Truck Pull or Convoy for Special Olympics, but for the tireless time they spend volunteering and contributing to other great community causes in Manitoba.
