In 2020, in light of the global pandemic, the Pioneer Award was altered to the MTA-Ocean Trailer Salute to Industry.  As Mack Keay of Ocean Trailer, says in the video:  in 2020, we were all pioneers of the trucking industry as we faced the new frontier created by COVID-19.

MTA - Bridgestone Trucking Hero Award

The MTA – Bridgestone Canada Trucking Hero award will be open to anyone employed by an MTA member company: Carrier member, Associate Trades member, or Bulk Milk Hauler.  The recipient may be anyone employed by an MTA member company in any job function; provided they are employed by an MTA member in good standing.

So, what do we mean by Hero? Heroism is defined as heroic conduct especially as exhibited in fulfilling a high purpose or attaining a noble end; often while putting someone else’s safety or wellbeing ahead of one’s own.

All acts, no matter how major or minor are significant! It’s important to recognize these acts and honor these individuals.  Not only do they help someone in need, they can also inspire and encourage others to be better citizens.  Let’s celebrate those among us who embody this caring spirit.
