What does an effective safety and health management system look like? One of the goals of this training is to provide learners with adequate information, tools, and resources in order to effectively develop their safety and health program and systems to meet legislation requirements and certification readiness.
The New Entrant Training Course provides increased awareness and understanding of fleet safety management and regulatory compliance responsibilities for those applying for a Safety Fitness Certificate in Manitoba. The program will instruct participants on how to establish a foundational understanding and promotion of a culture of fleet safety.
This first-aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) course provides the skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking for Adults, Children and Infants. This course, provided by St. John Ambulance, is suitable for workplace requirements. RPM’s Emergency First Aid with CPR Level C & AED training is a member benefit only. In order to register, your company must be registered with RPM and currently working towards, or have achieved SAFE Work Certification.
Anyone who is an owner, director, or manager in a trucking company has an immediate and direct effect and control over safety culture. This course provides leaders with the knowledge and ability to meet this responsibility according to the applicable provincial, federal legislation and industry best practices.
Excellent leaders drive effective worker participation and are critical components in the development and the maintenance of a safety program.
This half-day course is for those who need to refresh their understanding of the Canadian and US hours of service legislation, or for those who are new to the industry. This course is valuable for drivers, dispatchers, shippers, and customer service personnel to ensure that freight is being moved in a timely and safe manner.
Please note that the MTA and RPM offices will be closed February 20th 2023.
MTA carrier members are invited to attend an afternoon seminar with William Gardner of Pitblado Law on engaging truck drivers, and more specifically, on how to ensure that a company’s engaged workers are not unintentionally misclassified, whether through contract language or through a company’s administrative actions.
Join the Manitoba Trucking Association for a discussion on the ways and benefits of recruiting traditionally under-represented groups to the trucking industry. More details to come; mark your calendars!
