Trucking Keeps Manitoba Moving

-Over 90% of goods moved within Manitoba depend on trucks.

-Transportation and warehousing contributed 6.3% to Manitoba’s GDP in 2023.

-From 2019-2023, truck transportation grew by over $100 million dollars in Manitoba.

-The Manitoba trucking industry operates more than 15,000 power units and 20,000 trailers.

-For domestic transportation, trucking is the preferred mode of transport.

-According to Statistics Canada, the trucking sector generated more than $67 billion in operating income in 2019.

Scholarship Applications Open May 1st!

Every year, the MTA, through the generous support of the Associated Trades Division and Vehicle Maintenance Council, offers thousands of dollars in awards and scholarships to deserving individuals. Awards are offered in two categories: academic awards and apprenticeship awards.
