The MTA-ATD Committee Social Responsibility Award
Celebrating Our Collective Impact
What do we mean by Social Responsibility?
At its heart, social responsibility is about our shared commitment to be good neighbors and ethical leaders. It is the belief that our industry is at its best when we use our resources to create positive ripples in the world around us.
Whether you are an individual, a dedicated team, or an entire corporation, social responsibility means taking active steps to improve the lives of others. This can look like many different things: protecting our natural environment, volunteering in our local towns, leading diversity and inclusion, or finding innovative ways to give back through philanthropy. If you are working to leave your community better than you found it, we want to hear your story.
Who can apply?
This award is designed to celebrate the heart of our industry. It is open to all inspiring
- individuals (employed by MTA member companies in good standing),
- groups (employed by MTA member companies in good standing), or
- MTA member companies in good standing.
How We Celebrate Your Work (The Criteria)
We know that every project is unique. To ensure every applicant is heard fairly, our committee looks at the four key pillars below. We aren’t just looking for “big” projects; we are looking for meaningful ones.
Heart & Responsibility (30%)
We want to understand the “why” the “motivation” behind your work. How was this project designed to improve the ethical, social, or environmental footprint of yourself, team or company? We value initiatives that stem from a genuine desire to do better.
Real-World Impact (30%)
Tell us about the change you’ve seen. This isn’t just about numbers; it’s about the tangible difference made in the lives of community members or the health of our environment. Consider including measurable outcomes or qualitative results, which will help provide a clear overview of your initiative.
The 5 W’s: Who, What, Why, Where, When.
Legacy (20%)
Is this a project that can keep growing? We are looking for initiatives that are sustainable over time or can be used as a blueprint for others to follow. We love seeing ideas that have the “legs” to keep moving forward. Highlight the ongoing benefits of the project or the initiative.
The Power of Teamwork (20%):
How did you or your team contribute to meet the goals of the project or initiative. Whether you collaborated with industry partners, local charities, or diverse community groups to reach your goal.
How to Share Your Story (The Procedure)
Applying for an award should feel like sharing success with a friend. To get started, please fill out our online entry form. We encourage you to be as descriptive as you like!
Tell Us Your Story

Show Us the Results
