Truth and Reconciliation: Walking the Path from Awareness to Inclusion
Date: October 6, 2026
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. CST
Location: Viscount Gort Hotel
This engaging and thought-provoking session, From Colonial History to Shared Success, invites leaders and professionals from Manitoba’s transportation, logistics, and aviation industries to deepen their understanding of Indigenous history, the enduring impacts of colonization, and the pathways toward shared economic prosperity.
Cultural awareness training is essential for meaningful engagement with Indigenous Peoples. Understanding the historical and contemporary experiences that have shaped Indigenous–non-Indigenous relationships is critical to building respectful, productive, and lasting partnerships. Participants will gain practical insights and tools to support respectful, culturally informed interactions and strengthen relationships with Indigenous communities, organizations, and businesses. By developing a deeper understanding of Indigenous perspectives, histories, and cultural protocols, attendees will be better equipped to engage thoughtfully, build trust, and collaborate effectively in professional and community settings.
This event is co-hosted by the MTA Trucking Sector Council Program, Supply Chain Manitoba, and the Manitoba Aviation Council, which are funded by The Government of Canada and The Manitoba Government.
