Bridgestone Canada Trucking Hero Award
The Bridgestone Canada/MTA Trucking Hero award will be open to anyone employed by an MTA member company: Carrier member, or Associate Trades member. The recipient may be anyone employed by an MTA member company in any job function; provided they are employed by an MTA member in good standing.
So, what do we mean by Hero? Heroism is defined as heroic conduct especially as exhibited in fulfilling a high purpose or attaining a noble end; often while putting someone else’s safety or well being ahead of one’s own.
Heroism happens often enough in our industry but sometimes goes unnoticed or unrecognized. We have all heard stories of people stopping to help at the scene of an accident, helping their neighbors or community in times of emergency, or donating an organ to help someone in need – there are plenty of examples. This is the type of act that we will be recognizing starting next fall. All acts, no matter how major or minor are significant! It’s important to recognize these acts and honor these individuals. Not only do they help someone in need, they can also inspire and encourage others to be better citizens. Let’s celebrate those among us who embody this caring spirit.
If you know of someone in your company (or any MTA member company) who has performed some type of heroic act in the last 24 months Bridgestone Canada and the MTA want to hear about it! The winner will be chosen by committee from all nominations received before August 1, 2020 and will be announced at the 2020 Fall Awards Gala. The nomination form is below.
